The Indiana County Hazardous Materials Response Team was originally certified under the Act 165 of 1990 in April of 1992. Since that time, the team has been the primary hazardous materials response team for Indiana County.

As of January 2009, the Indiana County Hazardous Materials Response Team and Indiana County Technical Rescue Team merged as Indiana County EMA Team 900. Team 900 is an all-hazards team providing the following services:

• Hazardous Materials Response
• Rapid Intervention Group
• Technical Rope Rescue
• Confined Space Rescue
• Trench Rescue
• Urban Search and Rescue
• Resource Management
